Default Diverter Valve Testing...questions

Ok, so I'm in the midst of a 75k service on my car.

Finished up underneath, and headed upstairs to check vac lines and hose clamps.

Every single hose clamp from the plastic intake to the head thingie was loose. Tightened those up good.

Then headed to the diverter valve. Pulled out the trusty craftsmen vacuum gun apply vacuum to the billet EVO diverter valve, and the thing won't hold vacuum. I have to pump like a bugger to get to 15in-hg, and then it immediately starts falling.

Its been a while since I messed around with a turbo car, but shouldn't this thing hold vacuum easily?

Any help you guys could provide would be great.

Btw, getting to the diverter valves is a piece of cake. Soon as the airbox is out its a done deal.

Thanks all

Does the valve open with the vacuum? I would have thought it shouldn't leak vacuum. I have my stock Bosch valves on my table and the vacuum on them does seem to hold/not leak (I'm just sucking on the port though - and the valve opens easily - my vacuum thing is in the garage somewhere).

false alarm. seems the hose on the the craftsman gauge was a smidge too big. After I seated it on the diverter valve...hard, and secured with a ziptie, it held vacuum just fine.

The other side is a much bigger bitch.
