No..

My point was if it was NOT the sales managers car any private owner would have removed it and drove the car around with it on.

Hauler just called... Be here at 9 in the morning..

He volunteered that it was a really really nice car and that there are not many cars when he does a walk around before he loads them that he doesn't find one thing wrong..

Now that was sweet music to my ears...

No one arguing your point...

I'm 110% sure every RLister here wouldn't be caught dead with a dealer sticker on their P-car.

But it kinda sucks "That was part of the deal before it shipped."

Had the dealer not put it there in the first place,

Then no need to ask to remove it.

No need to risk damage to the paint from removal, unless they assumed you was going to drive around with it on...

Anyway, back to the original point: SY is hot!

Agreed it would be nice if it was not there. Never knew why dealers put these on the paint of brand new cars like they do.

A plate holder ok, but leave my new car paint alone

Oh and didn't think you were arguing..

SY will be hot and wet tomorrow here in Fl. Rain forecast.. So I get to wash it right away...

Okay car arrived.. Of course it was raining very hard.. Had to drive about a mile and a half home in the rain..

It is beautiful... Paint looks great and it is almost flawless... Interior is very very clean and even smells like my 97 C2 inside... All the original manuals and all three keys..

Very happy so far.. Will take it to my local mechanic as soon s I can get over there...

It is very overcast but I just took 2 shots with my phone to show how the paint shines even in the garage with no sun..

Will post more when my HREs get here....

I did notice the long throws in the shifter.. I had a SS kit in my 996TT and forgot how long the throws were.

Any recommendations for a SS kit for the 993?

Hawt damn... it looks amazing.

There is an RS short shift kit for the AWD 993s. It reduces the throw by about 20%, and is very inexpensive. The problem is that it drops the shifter down and the cover has to be "dimpled" to give the shifter clearance. "Dimple" is a vast understatement... it has to be severly deformed to make it fit. There are some threads that show how this can be done.

I have an RS shft kit in my garage. I used to have one installed in Waldo. I never installed it in Rufus because:
a). Rufus' gearbox is like butter
b). its a pain in the *** to install
c). it reduces the ground clearance by a bit
d). the small amount of improvement isn't worth it.

I don't know of any other short shift kits for the AWD cars.

LOL. One of the first things my mechanic had to do to Waldo was 'adjust' the modification used to accommodate this shifter. It was rubbing on the panel that had been modified. He told me I should turn around, he put the panel over a trash can and banged on it with a mallet for a few minutes... presto good as new! I personally very much like the shift action in Waldo vs. other 993tt that I've driven, but Steve is right it's not night and day.
