Default 993TT 42k miles - what's it worth?

There is 1996 TT. Polar Silver with 42k miles, 4 owners, has lease history, needs 'some' servicing (assuming non-major). Might be offered in the +/- $45,000 range. Does the price - give or take 2k off - sounds right!

Though I am not in the market for one, but thought the price is too good to be passed as some of my friends are interested in 993tt be it 96 or 97 model. Would recommend this car to them, if you guys think the price is right..!

Thanks!

Depends... What is the service history like? Does it have a documented service history? Was the 30k mile service done? If so, by whom and what was done. Obviously a full PPI would be needed. But if all the stars are in alignment this would be a great deal.

That is a fantastic price...like buy it now price. I'd make sure it passes a VERY rigorous PPI.

Could be a great deal....could require $15K in maintenance & repairs. Only a quality and thorough PPI will tell the difference.

There is probably a reason the initial asking price is so low compared to market.

Thanks guys for the swift response. Guess it has to go thru PPI to determine its worth. Lets see if my contacts are interested enough to go it that way (pay for PPI to check it out)!

Whats the average cost of Porsche dealer PPI..?! $300, $500!

Had word from the dealer/seller, who specializes in Euro sports cars (but not a Porsche dealer), that he done full inspection on car, gona forward copy to me.

Would this report be reliable, or one has to go the Porsche dealership way!

"No HTwo O", that is not the initial asking price. His published price is 55,000.

You need a PPI from a 3rd Party so there is no conflict of interests. Also, don't do a PPI at a Porsche dealership. Find a knowledgable indy.

This sounds like the Minneapolis car at the Maserati dealership. Proceed with caution if true. This car has been discussed here already.

Yup, that car initially sold for I think $48k back in august or so last year on ebay, and the condition was...unimpressive.

ELPORSCHA- do you have a link too the car online? Sometimes providing this will open up a lot of info from users on this board who may be familiar with the car. I'm often amazed how much people know about cars that are for sale out there on this board. Definitely do a 3rd party PPI from a shop who knows air cooled 911's. Its worth every penny and if an "inspection" is done by the seller of course get it and compare it to what the independent tells you. Knowledge is power and could save you, or your friends a lot of money.
