The 993 turbo was only manufactured for 2 years. The 996 turbo was made for 5 years. There were 7,095 more 996s made than 993s.
These are US sales numbers.
993TT total – 2,085
1996 Coupe: 1297
1997 Coupe: 612
1997 Coupe S: 176
996TT total - 9,180
2001 Coupe: 2418
2002 Coupe: 2318
2003 Coupe: 1384
2003 Cab: 482
2004 Coupe: 298
2004 Cab: 1490
2005 Coupe: 186
2005 Cab: 604
These are US sales numbers.

Without disputing your numbers, most references indicate 182 993 Turbo S cars rather than 176.

No worries. I cut and pasted the numbers from the web. They give their source as Excellence magazine, PCNA. No doubt there are differant numbers out there.
