Default 4K Mile Twin at T.Williams Porsche, Ala.

Guys,

I realize she's a repo., there's a scratch on the front bumper and I believe a small dent in one of the door sills. Is there anything else you can share with me regarding this car?

From the little I know, it seems that this would be a good purchase in the upper 80's. Please share your thoughts.

Thanks.

I dunno. Really depends on what you want it for. If its going to be a collectible that you drive once a month, you may be ok, but the repo history might hurt.

If you intend to drive it, get one with higher mileage. It will most likely be in better mechanical condition, and you won't feel so bad putting miles on it.

A 20k mile car can be had in the low 70s, so you'll save some money too.

Lots of mid 20K mile cars in the mid $60's lately with good colors/options...

Why is a repo car a bad thing? Does it hit the carfax?

Eh, if it somehow comes up that the car is a repo (which is not on this car's carfax), it may hurt resale solely because everyone thinks repo cars are beaten to hell before they are taken. Most likely its no big deal. That said, if I were looking for a top dollar mega low mile car, I might pass on a repo.

Quad,

Thanks, that is insightful. And I doubt it applies to this car.

I recently went to a dealer who had 4 of a guys cars that they repoed. An S550, a 997S and a couple others. He beat the **** out of them. Cracked wheels, body damage, dirty interiors. I couldn't do that to a car at gunpoint!

See if you can negotiate the price down based on the fact it's a repo but go for the low mileage if affordable. It's like having a brand new car and I've never met anyone that's had trouble with a low mileage 993..........

IT ISN'T A REPO IN THE NORMAL SENSE.....THE GUY WENT TO JAIL FOR FRAUD SO THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM THE FEDS TO HELP PAY SOME LOSSES. !!! THERE WERE ACTUALLY ABOUT 20 CARS IN THIS GROUP.
