I was cleaning out my garage the other weekend and re-stacked some of my track tires. I inadvertently stacked them too high near the garage door rails and one evening when I went to open the garage door the top tire was knocked off the stack and fell directly onto my 993tt passenger rear fender. It was like a slow-motion nightmare, as my eyes tracked the tire as it fell full force onto the car from a height of near 7'. I screamed internally and felt nauseous, ready to vomit. The dent was the size of my face, and depressed about 2-3 inches!
I happened to have some hobbyist body tools, so I used a suction cup to pull the bulk of the dent out. There was however 2-3 dimples left and some light scuffs from the old track rubber.
I took the car to a highly recommended dent/detail specialist in Houston, Chris Gilbert (713 882 4055). Chris had fixed some minor door dings on various cars of mine in the past, but nothing like this. I went to him with modest expectations, and was mentally prepared to accept some residual defects.
Chris went to work quickly and was able to access the panel just forward of the muffler. He did not need to remove the wheel and was able to slip the tools over the fender liner. It took him about 20 minutes to massage out all of the irregularities in the curved panel as I watched. It was almost like watching someone "photoshop" out the defects. After that he used some buffing compound and eliminated all the scuffs in a couple of light passes with an orbital polisher.
I cannot give a higher recommendation for Chris, and am extremely satisfied!

Eclou - Glad the ending was great!!! A few years ago I have had some car parts fall from about 7-feet as well on one of my cars and you are right it is sick stomach feeling.
Now that I live in Houston, I will keep Chris' tel. no. handy. Where in Houston is he located?
Are you going to Cars and Coffee this Saturday (weather peanding?)

Chris is one of the guys that help reduce my automotive stress level - I know some of the best Porsche mechanics, welders, machine shops, body shops etc - basically the guys that can unf*ck any unpleasant car situation

Chris is at the Star Motorcars complex. I will be in San Fran and possibly at Thunderhill this weekend for the 25 hour race so I will miss the C&C.
