Porsche 450 ECU with K16's???
Hi Rennlisters.....I was just wondering what would happen if you paired up the above components? A standard 450 porsche ECU which expects K24's on a car that actually has K16's....
Any views from those folks that know about this stuff?
cheers Taj.

Don't do it - can imagine the ECU wanting to flow more air than the turbos can properly provide resulting in extra heat and/or overspeeding the turbos. Use that ECU as the basis for an optimal K16 remap - the factory 450 map is nothing special.

What phelix said. I have the same hardware as the 450hp kit (e.g KKK24's, extra oil cooler etc) but added a K&N filter, 100cell cats and tweaked the DME. End result: more power, less lag. So indeed, the 450hp map is nothing special.

Has anyone taken a look at the 450 stock map?.....My thinking was that the Porsche 450 map is still quite conservative...as mentioned by phelix and Viggo. Couple this with the fact that some people advertise 440hp K16 maps eg FVD, RS tuning....the K16's are clearly capable of pushing to 450....
Thoughts?

Yes - how on earth do you get to that conclusion?!

Components and software mapping should be a matched set. If you just try and plugin any old set of parts you may not (probably will not) get what you are looking for.
