Default Practice Makes Perfect (unfortunately)

It appears I get to spend some more quality time replacing a valve cover gasket. The left one is leaking again, so I'm sure it's got to be the valve cover itself this time. Can anyone say billet? Iknewthatyoucould

Any other maintenance related things I should do while I'm in there? Maybe replace the timing chain covers while I'm at it? I'm not looking for scraping knuckles, but if the car is apart...

Just ordered the Hargett Billet VC's...sad I get so excited about new car parts

I'm going to replace the intercooler hoses while I'm in there and have the Turbos out also.

I was going to do the check valves from Kevin, but since I discovered how to actually read a dipstick, I don't think I need them anymore. My car seems to be burning about 1 qt every 2000 miles.

Of course I will remove all of the cosmoline down there while I'm down there this time....and maybe polish the exhaust system....and maybe paint the intercooler cover....

Slippery slope, indeed.

Don't be cheep, do the check valves. Save the turbos. Your in there anyway. You don't want to do it three times do you?

I wasn't planning to, not for being cheap, but mainly because I planned to upgrade to UMW Stage 2 next year.

I didn't take it that way, not offended at all! That actually leads me to a question though...if I do put them in, and then upgrade to the hybrids with UMW, would it be throw away money, or does he use your cores?

It might make sense if I am going to re-use my old turbo housings anyway?

The check valves can be used on either set of turbos. I don't know if he uses the old turbos for cores.
