Default Some pics from Road America

Had a GREAT couple of days at RA a few weeks back and wanted to share some pictures. This forum needs more track pictures of 993tts IMHO

Another forum member and very good friend, wagongotya, and I had the pleasure of being sponsored by the great folks at Kelly Moss Motorsport for the event.

This is the first time they ever set up my car and WOW was it a huge difference from the previous setup. Handed them the car beforehand and said do everything from ride height to corner balance, alignment, shock setup, sway bars etc and I was shocked at how good the car handled. With my previous setup the car seemed nervous and super sensitive to inpu but with KM's setup the chassis was very composed and nothing I did seemed to upset it, esp the rear end. Very impressed with that shop and highly reccomend them to everyone. It helps that they used to race & support EVO's & GT1's in the 90's so they really know they're 993's. If you ever get to see the shop up in Madison WI you can see all the race cars on shelves and parts of GT1's lying around, its really a fun place to snoop around

Kelly Moss supported us by showing up with a trailer, tools & ex-alms mechanic and helping us with the cars all weekend. Price Cobb is the GM there and he spent he entire weekend helping us out which was a blast. Price is a really famous racer from back in the day and his knowledge, advice and stories are incredible. Not to mention he is a great guy and hoot to hang out with.

Wagongotya and I showing up at KM to pick up our cars for the event. This was a great sight to pull up too

Loaded up the cars we were off!

We had to do some last minute work of course as you can see wagongotya here. He was probably checking the coolant level

Here is Price Cobb adjusting my bumper the night before. Now that is service!! Notice the ratio of rotor to head, yes those are 380's

Here is the setup we had at the track

Pic with the BBS's on

Where is the fan?

My tail light fell out again, came in for a quick pitstop to tape it up. I still say it was wagongotya bumping me to let him pass that caused it to come loose

We had a blast and really enjoyed getting the cars out on such a great track.

I'm waiting for a bunch of other on track action shots and will update once they come through. I'm told there is one with a big flames shooting out the back

Ask and you shall receive

The RSR is soooooooooooooooooo hot. I don't know how you ever sold it!

This kind of stuff is ALL over the place in the shop. The amount of porsche racing history from the 90's in the US that just sitting around is hilarious

The infamous watercooler (GT3RS) powered 993 way up on a shelf

couple of the ferrari trailers

I love when you pull up there and they have cup car tubs all over the place that are essentially waiting for the garbage man to pick them up

The best part is watching them move prototype cars out of the way so you can get your trailer in the parking lot. That place is hilarious!! In a good way

Thanks! It's good to see that car again, even if it's sitting in dust.

I never intended to sell the car, but Jeff Stone approached me at the Road America club race last year and remarked that he'd like first dibs should I decide to sell. A few months later the market for 997 Cups softened and my mind started to wander...I contacted Jeff to see if he was for real. I figured that if he said "no", then it wasn't meant to be and I'd eventually be buried in the car. He said "yes" and we worked out a deal.

It's a fantastic car. Kelly Moss really pulled out all the stops when they built it. I think I maintained it to a very high standard, so the new owner should be very happy. The motor is fresh and very strong.

Let me know next time you're going to the Autobahn. We can meet for a beer.

Well its not like your new car is a slouch either but I have a special place in my heart for anything aircooled That car in person is just stunning

I'd take you up on our autobahn offer but being that I'm not a member I rarely ever get down there

^^ Old is so pejorative. I prefer "gentlemen of a certain age".
