Default How to get shifter out of torque tube?

I'm trying to take the shifter out of the torque and have tried every possible angle and orientation of the bottom half of the sleeve and pin and can not get the shifter out of the tube. Anyone got any ideas as to the correct way to pull it all apart and out?

It's been a long time since I had mine apart, but that looks like an aftermarket piece for a 2WD car that's been jammed in place.

I don't know the origin of this shifter but it's the best feeling one I've ever experienced in any 993 that I've driven.

I was able to tap it a few times with a hammer to gain enough clearance to get the shifter fork and bottom half of the slider off.

The shifter is now wedged in the tube and isn't going to come out w/o more force. I'll get it out later today.

It is a tight squeeze -- force is required

hmmmmm
if you've already removed the two halves of the "shuttle", the two shells of AL that slide on the tube, you should be able to slide the shifter out the bottom of the Big Black Tube from the bottom.
I did this ~ 3 months ago and don't remember any particular challenges, perhaps yours is a bit different?

interesting.

In my experience it can all come out through the bottom. It is a bit of a puzzle but I've never had to use a hammer.
Those look like OE parts.

Whatcha up to?

For the sake of closure. Yes it took a few taps of the hammer to get it out of the torque tube.
