30 MPG the Hard Way!
I got two speeding tickets in two weeks, so I'm driving my Andial 3.8 at the limit now. It got 24 mpg at 80, but gets a solid 30 at 65 with the A/C on.

Don, Sorry to hear that. I have managed to stay clean now for 3 years after racking up a bunch.
Those 3.8 twinplugs DO get good mileage.

Don, I''m sorry to hear but the state needs revenue. I just got popped in the RED Clk63! Any of them Lidar? Pretty easy to beat those. CHP pacing, not a chance.

The second was LIDAR and was 5mph faster than I was actually going! My speedo is spot on, as compared to multiple speed check stations in various locations, and I had the cruise set on 77 with no traffic on dead level I505. The first was in very heavy traffic as paced by a motorcycle cop, how he did that in virtually bumper to bumper wildly varying speed traffic is beyond me. I have no delusions that a judge will do anything other than back up the badges.

Calibrated by who? All electronic equipment must be calibrated by an calibration lab which issues a certificate for a certain period of time. Most police agencies aren't good record keepers and loose or forget to have their guns current. If the Lidar gun calibration expried the cops can't use that as evidence, secondly the operator must have a Lidar certificate. Many only have a radar which isn't the same.
Lidar gun operators can manipulate the speed display very easily, that's why they are not recognized as good science like radar. It's mearly a distance measuring device that shoots a beam and records the time it takes to read it back. Big problem the cop can point the gun on the most reflective part of the car the California license plate then point it at the windshield and the differece will give a erronious reading in favor of....THE COP! It's very easy to get a 5 mph variation. For the Lidar to work properly it must measure the same spot on the vehicle.
Most Lidar manuals will require the use of a tripod in order to avoid beam shift.
When's the last time you've seen a motorcyle cop with a tripod...never.
One of the problems you have is trying to explain this to a judge. Some get it some don't.
