want to make sure i understand my search results correctly: best practice is a 60 second idle after driving, spirited or otherwise?

thanks!

just stay out of boost for the last few minutes of driving. simply idling stops air flow through the oil cooler/engine bay/IC

I'm confused. Are u saying letting the car idle for a minute or so while parked after driving is good or that it does not help? What about a 10 minute commute to the office where I'm never over 50 MPH? Thx

If your off boost for an entire drive then of course you can just park and shut it off. If you are on boost during your drive just stay off it for the last few minutes of your drive and your fine. Where people get into trouble is when the drive the car hard then turn off the engine right after.

I know this may be a dumb question (I've only owned my TT for 2 months) but how do u know when u are in 'boost mode (other than driving it hard, of course)

Np, your factory boost gauge will let you know. Just drive easy for the last few minutes of your drive and you'll be fine

You need to scroll through the info screen to select the boost read-out, right on your large center tach dial.

Goes from 0.0-0.9.

Have you ever read 0.9 of boost on your gauge? In another thread, no one has ever read more than 0.8, even when they have boost of 1.5 (modified engine), and one post said that the gauge is designed to go only to 0.8.
