Default leaking lower valve cover - advice request

I had a top-end rebuild done about 2 years ago and the lower valve covers were replaced with OEM units as they were starting to warp. One of the new covers has now started to leak. How likely is it that the leak can be stopped by checking/tightening all of the fasteners? Or will the cover need to come off to replace the gasket? If tightening will work I'm happy to give it a go but if the odds are poor I'll take it back to the shop and ask them to sort it. I believe they'll hold their hand up as they're that sort of place. (You may wonder why I don't bring it to them in the first place - they're a 3 hour round trip by car and a 4 hour round trip by train and I would prefer to spend my time driving on roads of my own chosing. Plus I'm happy to have a go myself.)

The v/c's have an aluminum bobbin at each fastener location acting as a stop, if you will, for limiting the amount of crush on the rubber seals. So tightening the bolts more (unless they are very loose) wont do anything for you.

Cheers Chris; does that imply all bolts tight = gasket failure?

I had the same problem on my '91 c2 cab and replaced the OEM covers with the Imagine Auto billet aluminum covers - problem solved. [no affiliation with IA]
