That car keeps getting re-listed. I took a cursory look at in my search, and it didn't cut the mustard (don't like silver for one, ahhh the blasphemy ). I wouldn't be surprised to see that car get resurfaced as "sold" again in a couple weeks.
I suspect what was mentioned above as the seller keeps "buying" it.

That car and the two 996tt's supposedly sold a few weeks ago at "fire sale prices" are still listed on the dealer's website. They are listed as call for prices, where others are see ebay auction. Not that it proves they are still for sale just another piece of data.

I sold my very good condition '97 993tt on ebay about a month ago for $56,000. It was Arctic Silver with 34,000 miles. I moved it within 2 weeks but I felt like it was a tough market with a few offers in the low to mid 50's before someone stepped up to $56,000. (The buyer received the car last week and sent me an e-mail that he is very happy).
The '96 car that is the subject of this thread was on ebay the whole time I was selling my car. The front-end issue plus the fact that it is a '96 plus the fact that bad news continues to pour out on the economy says to me that $52,500 is not so exceptional and probably reflects the current fair market value for that particular car.
Ferrari prices are way down on ebay and not much is selling.

I mentiond in my post that I thought I had a tough sell with my 993tt. There were probably no more than a dozen other 993tts on the market at the same time.
Check this out...right now there are 230 Ferrari F430's available on cars.com of which 130 are Spiders. Ebay is flooded with them as well. I'm so glad I was selling a 993tt instead of a F430!
In fact, even though the market is bad, my 993tt diddn't lose a painful amount of value over my 4-1/2 years of ownership. What a great car. I sold it only because CLK63 prices were in the tank and I needed more back-seat room for my kids. That said, I must admit I'm enjoying the hell out of the CLK63. My kids ask me to take it every time we go somewhere together and they want the top down unless it's freezing.

I wonder if the "Private" eBay winner was fictional. I think that all transactions on eBay should stay public so shill bidding is discouraged. I am not saying that it was a case of shill bidding but it was purchased by a "Private" bidder and never really sold. Victory keeps nearly all of its sales "Private".
