I've never been a fan of the K&N filters as they gunk up the MAF sensor. Especially the Bosch sensors that we have, hitachi ones seem to fare better than the Bosch but thats a different discussion.
I would stick with stock and replace on a regular basis. Since you already have the K&N installed if you don't want to throw it away you can clean it and "lightly" oil it. Make sure you get some MAF cleaner and clean out the sensor while you are in there. There is another filter out there (starts with a B) that some use but I don't have any experience with it and just stick to the stock filter.
Hope this helps!

Mine have been on for over 30k miles with no problems either that I'm aware of. Just want to know if I should go back to stock ( I no longer have the stock setup so I will have to buy used)

My car has a K&N filter in the OEM turbo housing. It came that way from the RUF factory. RUF Dallas says they are superior to the OEM filter. I have heard debate on these filters, but have no reason to change out my K&N.
