No true. Or at least that was not true about 2 months ago when I was seeking a PPI in Houston area.
The West Houston dealership has a great tech who knows the 993TT. His name is Hans. See if he can do the PPI. I would trust him.

I would add that this has been true in places like California. For example the Carlsbad dealership will no longer do PPI's due to liability issues. Two dealerships in the Cincinnati area told me the same thing.
So, maybe it is happening in Houston too.
Some places will only do a "Multi-point Safety Inspection". And still charge an arm & a leg.

Call Viking at 832-250-5995. He saved me about $6k on my 993tt purchase. It is very likely if you are buying in Houston that he has already seen the car (former Service Dept manager for Advantage/West Houston Porsche for many years) and knows the owners and techs that have worked on the car.

Unless you are buying from Victory. I hear that they tell their buyers that the dealers don't do PPIs anymore and direct them to their wrench.
If you are buying from Victory, do a search for Victory on several RL strings (here and 993).

There was a recent period of time that I would have confidence in Victory's cars. Now that their good (ethical and technical) mechanics have moved on, I would be inclined to avoid their cars.
