Default Turbocharger go BOOM.....damnit

So it finally happened. A smoke screen James Bond would have been proud of. Smoke alarms going off. The entire apartment full of oil smell. GREAT!

Doesn't look like the turbo came apart so lucky there.

Kevin should be hard at work as I write this building me a set of upgraded replacements with check valves. As much as I would like a Stage X upgrade, it is just not in the cards right now; just moved, buying a house etc.

Thanks for the advice and help Kevin.

Sorry to hear your turbo crapped out but it does happen sometimes. At least it's a good time for an upgrade!

sorry to hear. what were you doing when it happened? are you trading your old ones for rebuilt stock ones with the check valves?
anyways, it could be worse.

They are upgraded with some 996 parts and have bigger oil passeges and such. Same size and power so no ECU expense.
