Post Gearbox problem !!

Hello.

Need some advice from RL friends.
After been on the track for some laps, and no problems at all, suddenly when taking a curve almost flat out in second gear and shifting to third gear , the gearbox is still in second gear but the shifter are in neutral position.
So now the gearbox is stuck in second gear but not the gearshifter !
Have worked on gearboxes before but not on a G64/51 and can`t see any places where you could inspect inside the tranny without tearing it apart completly .
Anyone been there before and have some advice ??

/ Kurt

Sounds like a linkage problem.

There are some pretty flimsy snap rings holding the linkage together. Pull the long skinny plate off the bottom of the car and make sure everything is connected. Could be a simple and cheap fix.

Agree^^^

There is a cap with four small allen headed bolts that trap the shifter slider mechanism around the front prop (drive) shaft. Check there first.

If nothing is obviously wrong, drain the oil, see if anything comes out that is not supposed to.

Have checked the linkage and nothing wrong there so the problem is inside
gearbox .
Maybe it`s time to buy that Z06 now ? Nice car for so much less money than a Porsche.
It was first time on track this season for me and last season ended in problems
too so maybe it`s time moving on ?
Love the car and have done a lot of work on it but everything have a limit.
Anyway the gearbox have to be rebuilt, and what updates /modifications is recomended while it`s out ? I know for sure that my LSD is also gone.
Thanks.

Most likely shift fork broke, go with the Porsche motorspots steel ones, also steel sychros. If you haven't changed motor monts, nows a good time.
