Not something I'm considering; someone close to me is. Private party transaction between two guys who do business with each other.

'97 Guards Red/Black, 50K miles. 100% stock, 4X4 height. Repainted, and a cursory look indicates some straightening in the nose area. Average to below-average for 993 standards. (Hell, even Boxster standards.) Does have the original hood w/ sticker. Pretty much a base car. Probably has some records; weren't available when I stopped by. No visible oil leaks.

I know we can all dream of a steal/below market/PPI beatdown, but be honest that there's a floor for one of these things that you're not going to go below.

Thanks!

IMHO: Depends on both how bad the 1. repaint, repair and frame is and
2. how bad the ppi is
range $20k to $50k
sounds like $40s car, assuming mechanically ok and repair pretty good
If it had good ppi and good original paint I would say 55-60
again this is just my opinion, good luck to your friend

Well, there's no frame on any of these. A small hit to the nose is all I could see without putting it on a lift. There's really no point to a ppi since the owner has a minimum amount of some sort in mind; beating him down by saying this, that, or the other is deficient means he just won't sell it. So is that number $50K? NO one of these with a clean title, 50K on the clock, and running is going to go below $40K.

My overall recommendation was to pass.
