Just toying with putting a sports exhaust on my car, they dont sound much like the n/a car, so what seems to be the pipe of choice?,had a techart on my last993 loved that noise most of the TT ones Ive heard sound a bit "agricultural" any advice would be great.

There are not that many exhaust choices out there for 993tt to begin with.

If you want noise, muffler bypasses is the route to go.

If you want substantial noise, then muffler and cat bypasses.

In either case, check your local authorities for noise regulations.

If your interested, I have a set of muffler bypasses FS here.

I have Ultimate Motor Werks 100 cell cats and Cargraphic catbacks; just right for me. I found bypasses to be too loud and boomy.

Or this: https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...0&postcount=10

I am hoping no muffler and the extra pipe creates a nice noise. The center exit exh is an added bonus. We will see...

Gary, are you still planning on tracking the car with this mod?

Possibly,I am getting a bit attatched to her now, having just spend 2k on her.Ionly did silverstone the once, may take her to the ring in the summer and down to Le Man,my last one was noisy so am missing that aspect,I wouldnt cane it on a track day, but tend to keep out of everyones way and enjoy the performance if I crashed it I wouldnt be very happy!

The reason I ask is because of the increased policing of noise at most UK tracks right now. I continue to have problems with my RUF exhaust, as I did with the Andial one before it. Was clocked at 103db at Goodwood last week on the static test, which means I was short shifting most of the day. Since it was raining pretty hard all day that wasn't too much of a problem, but wouldn't have wanted to do it on a fine day. And even at the 'ring I know they're checking more carefully than before.

As an FYI, I am extremely pleased with the sound AND fit of the Danske Oem supplier to Porsche for the 993 turbo "export" mufflers. They not only fit well, they have NO resonance at speed yet have a deeper gutteral and still a "bark" compared to others. No "motorboat" sound here! We did a sound comparison a couple of years ago at a local Porsche meet that had a few modded 993 turbo's and the concensus was the Danskes sounded the best. Don't know what the other 993 TT's had. The Danskes are in my opinion not too loud but with enough "attitude". Hope this helps. Pat

Hi Gary, I have muffler bypass pipes on my 993 Turbo. I am based in Colchester so you are more than welcome to come and have a listen to see what you think.
Thanks, Mark

Hi Gary, FYI I had Haywood and Scott make the muffler bypass pipes on mine, cost around £250 a couple of years ago. Good quality and I could use the existing exhaust tips with them.
Thanks, Mark

Ask Tony (Airkuul) I think he has GHL muffler bypasses that sound really deep and nice in the tone
