I got one on my GT3 and it comes on at 8200. Its almost worthless.
I intuitively shift about 100 rpm down from that.

A highly visible sequential shift light is a good thing when on track; you get used to timing the lights in different gears to shift before the rev limiter bogs the car down.

I just ordered an LED shift light from Raptor performance. I hate looking down at the tach waiting till red line..And I keep running into this guy with a CLS63 and kicking his @ss...but always hitting the rev limiter.

Can't you change by sound and feel of the engine? You need to learn the car better - to be at one with it

Glad I could help. I too find the lights useful/easier to watch then the tach. I too need help especially when I'm trying to run down vetts and the like, the little bit of extra 'urgency' causes me to run into the rev-limiter.
