Default Track tire question. Anyone running 275's in the front?

I'll be running hoosiers this season and just found out that the R6's don't come in a 265 or 255 for that matter. Next step is 275/35/18 which I assumed were too big however after some research comparing them to the 265/35/18 MPSC I found some surprising data, the R6's were very very close in size to the MPSC in fact it looks they are no wider....

Overall width / Diameter / Tread width

R6's ----- 10.7 / 25.2 / 10.3
MPSC --- 10.9 / 25.2 / NA

These figures are from the tirerack website and they did not list the tread width of the MPSC (neither did Michelins website), just the overall mounted width. So basically can we conclude that the Hoosier R6 275/35/18 are close enough in size to the MPSC 265/35/18's that you can run them on our cars? I'm comparing the hoosiers to the 265 MPSC as I know that people run those without issue

My car is 2wd and if the other 2wd guys could chime in about this I'd appreciate it I'll be running 315's (possibly 335's) on the rear. Rims are 9 wide in the front and 12 in the back. My assumption is that the 275's will help with the understeer induced by the LSD vs 245's but I'm still learning here and that could be incorrect (ie completely wrong)

Thanks for the help/insight everyone!

275 r6's may be too big up front. 245 r6's like 275 ra1's both slightly rub my inner fenderwell and you'll need to roll the fenders as well. they work well w/ r6 315's out back. honestly i'm not sure they're much better than the 275/335 ra1's i used to run. if you plan on running mpsc's you won't have much fun early in the season when the weather is still cold.

Thanks for the reply. So the 275's are a no go? The original plan was to run the 245 and 315 R6's so I'll just stick with that. Going from the numbers they didn't seem any bigger than the 265 MPSC but I was looking for some real world experience. Thanks for the help Brad!

I ran 265 MPSC up front and 315's in the rear. 265's rubbed through a little of the liner but no rolling fenders was necessary. I was looking to make the move to hoosiers myself and didn't realize the lack of 255,265's. Hmmm??? .

I too was dissapointed to find that out. They go from 245 to 275 which seems a little odd to me. I'm still going to run R6's as they grip like mad but it would be nice to have them in a larger size (255 or 265) for the fronts.

My original thought was that we could get away with the 275 hoosiers as they are no bigger than the 265 MPSC that many run on the front. I get a really good deal through my tire guy and I may pick up a set just to try

Heres a link to the Hoosier tire sizes http://www.hoosiertire.com/speccat.pdf
