More downforce for the track, but the interior remains the same, except I added Sirius XM sat. radio for the street commute:

That's a great example of a built 993 turbo! 3.8 twin plug with Garrets, Brembo GT brakes are just about perfect for that car inside 18's. Stone chips are a badge of honor!

I'd humbly suggest considering a different wheel and seats.

Though I think BK still sells that harness bar, as a matter of safety, being held upright in a rollover without a rollover bar is a mismatch for head and neck safety. I think DASsport makes a good four point bolt in half cage for the 993. Very stout, clean fit, well designed with the best installation I've seen.

Given the performance potential suggested by that massive IC, another drop in the bucket of what's been put into this car would be money well spent.

Your car looks great.

I'm considering upgrading my turbos to the gt 3071 or gt3076 can you share with me the boost response your seeing.

I currently have the 18gs but they are working so hard. I'm seeing outlet temps over 300 degrees F.

IATs are good though

IIRC, 21psi on 93 octane setting, 24 on 100. Boost really comes on at 4K rpm's, and pulls strong right to the rev limit.

Sorry to hijack, but agree with Al Pettee, my motor is not built yet, but I took the liberty of doing a few upgrades. I run 100 Oct with a Protomotive tune and 1.3- 1.4 Bars all day. I have the GT3076's HTA with Tial housings and Alpha covers. Boost comes in just shy of 4K rpms but comes in HARD.

Definitely not the thread to hijack, but no harm in asking the mod to move these couple of posts to a new thread on engine builds -- I'm very interested in first hand reports and I'm procrastinating on a 3.8 twin plug ***** out build just for lack of "surely things have progressed in the last decade" updated information.

No reason to procrastinate, the only "new" stuff with these buuilds the last ten years is better turbochargers, just do the 3.8L properly-flame ring sealing, reputable cams, rods and P/C (I went with the Protosport/Protomotive hardware using Pauter and Mahle), then choose your turbocharger-I have standard Garrett GT3076 units, but we're contemplating a GTX3076 upgrade for the future.

Is it safe running that high boost on a stock bottom end?

I don't abuse it, and only run that amount of boost on 100+, so far so good. Todd says do not go over 1.5, heads will lift. Been running it for 4 months or so.
