They are heavy but very strong!

And the Magnesium are out of stock for a long time because Ruf was not satified with the stability!

Hi Nicu,
you put on the Alus!

The Magnesium was a limited series and is out of production for a long time!

Nicu, but still with (the strong) Alus your CTR2 is one of the greatest Rufs, Alois ever build!

It wouldbe great to see more detail pics from engine, trunk, etc.!

Your car is worth for a million pics!

Default Magnesium wheels

Nicu - Nice to see someone else with the magnesium wheels . Did you buy those directly from Ruf?

I have heard many reasons why they stopped selling them...."they crack too easy"....."they are too expensive". I have never heard the one about stability though. Let me now add that to my list.

BTW...I have not experienced any problems with these wheels, maybe I just need to drive faster .

Nicu has the actuell Alu rims!

And Magnesium is an critical material!

It´s not made forever and you have to controll it by time by x-ray!

The Manesium Rufs easy to recognize by the design at the rim border, which is flat at the Magnesiums and the Alu Rims have a little buckle at the border!

I never noticed that difference before. I went out to my garage to see if I could tell what you are talking about, and there it was... a small "lip" all around the edge of my aluminum wheels. You learn something new every day. Thanks.

Maybe I am not following something here. You say that Nicu has the actual Alu rims. Didn't he just post a picture of his new Mag. rims? Maybe he has both, I'm confused.

I have just e-mailed H.P. Lieb at Ruf for their position on the magnesium wheels. I will let you know what he has to say.

Cheers

Scott,

I think I can help.

Nicu was under the impression that Chrisitan was saying that the RUF wheels wer no longer available. Nicu said they were - he just bought some.

In reality Christian was saying RUF isnt producing any MAGNESIUM wheels. Shortly after Nicu clarified this. Christian also made all of us (i think) aware of the subtle differences (i.e. the small lip) between Magnesium and Alloy Ruf wheels.

I hope this helps???

Simon
