Do you guys know if a TT reansmission will fit in a 993 C2? I know the tt is awd but I mean is the housing the same? I heard that it is longer (the bellhousing). Thanks, Mark

 

I don't know about the fit, but make sure the gear ratios are the same. The N/A 993 has long enough gears as it is.

 

I was thinking about making a new gearbox and starting with a tt one. Are the TT gears shorter or longer than a na car?

 

I think the 993tt gearbox is longer (stronger ring and pinion?) meaning the engine's a bit nearer to the back of the car.

The TT gearbox is longer and heavier -- courtesy of the bigger ring & pinion so the bell housing is bigger. Generally speaking-- a 993 N/A gearbox with ratios is a better option. Definately adaquetly strong enough for any N/A engine. The TT gearbox will fit FWIW.
