Default Wheels (offsets etc)

Hi,

I have been offered some wheels for my 993 but I am a little confused about offsets etc

the rims i am looking at are 11x18 rear with offset 34 (think the std is 40 on a 10x18 wheel) and the front are et40 and rim size 8.5x18 (the std is 8x18 and et 52 i think)

do you guys think these will fit ok on a 993 turbo or will i need to modify the arches etc (i do not want to do that)

thanks

John

Find an offset calculator online and run the stock vs new wheels to tell where they will end up.

thanks, do you know if i have got the correct offsets/sizes for normal, and what kind of play have I in space, can it be 10mm over on the inside and 20mm extending from normal, i do not know how tight the wheels are at present.

thanks

As a data point you can fit 996 turbo wheels (8" front w/50mm offset, 11" rear w/45mm offset) to a 993tt without spacers or fender rolling.

I can't comment on the rear fitment as I have a cab, but the fronts will fit...I currently have 18x9 ET 40 w/ 245 PS2s so same offset but a little wider than those rims (I have room to go to 255 or perhaps 265). I personally think those rears will fit and at worse may need some fender rolling if you decide to go with wider tires...but I have no direct personal experience with widebody 993s and that offset (rears on my cab are 18x11 ET52 vs the stock 18x10 ET65, so 1" wider and 13cm more aggressive offset, vs those rears at 1" wider and 6cm more offset).

btw what wheels are these?
