hey do you guys still have your techart exhausts from your andial conversions or have you moved on to new pipes or tips or mufflers, etc?

I don't want to mess up the tuning but since I only drive my car to/from and around the track was wondering if I can get anything more aggressive? not looking for a huge HP increase or anything (obviously) but just louder and possibly lighter.

thanks in advance

c.j.

Still have mine. Hard to get more HP out of the exhaust jon 93tt as there pretty good as they are. Some like to change for a different sound. I've got different cats, but really didn't pick up anything noticeable.

C.J,

Would a muffler bypass pipe mess up your tuning? If not for the exhausts note, more aggressive sound and less weight try the GHL bypasses and you can still use your TA tips. I have them on my TT with 100 cell cats... hope to meet up with you at MSR soon.

Still have my Techarts. Kevin said that we're right on the verge of maxing out the MAF sensor, even his higher flow cats are risky. I'm not sure if bypasses would do it. The Techarts have seemed to gain a bit more growl with more miles.

So would muffler bypass pipes be ok on our cars?

Unknown, evidently if the MAF sensor detects too much flow the ECU flips out and shuts the engine down.

C.J.

Do you have OEM CATs or 100 cell CATS in yout tt?

I put 100 cell CATS in my Ruf and the sound improved dramatically. Not much louder, but much deeper and throaty. Not to mention the turbo spools a lot faster. I love that.

Hello Lads,
I put some muffler bypasses on mine. Sounds dandy. Runs great, no issues.

scott- that's good news. which brand sir?

pong- I don't know how many cells in the Cats. I will look through the paperwork to check it out. if the turbos spooled any faster I'd be in really serious trouble, traction is already an issue on the track and even with R-compound tires it's only slightly better

CJ, the bypasses are Fabspeed. The car was so quiet before when I went for a drive with the other local 993tt reprobates, I could only hear THEIR cars. I was tempted to try CAT bypasses, but Q and The Felon talked me out of it.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I have so much practice swapping these out that I can do it in 17 minutes including hiding the mufflers from my wife. (I realize that you are still single and that makes no sense to you......yet ).

Oh Scott, I know the feeling of hiding mufflers from the wife. I usually do my installs in the wee hours after everbody goes to bed!
Damn, to be single......

well the downside of being single is that I still do the whole "downtown condo" thing. I need to get myself a house (trying to save up in the next 20 months for a place in hollywood, brentwood, or studio city) with a garage and tools. will then keep the andial car there in LA and newer cars here in texas to abuse in the heat.

but anyway- the muffler bypasses, sounds like an easy install then?

when I take the TT to the track all I hear are the GT3s exhaust when I pass them on the straights. lol
