Simon, I suppose you are referring to the "Competition" as opposed to the "Street Performance" version. Was your upgrade a DYI ? Straightforward of any specific fabrication requirements? They look like they are about a little under $3K USD. My car will remain predominantly as daily driver - any compromises in this regards?

Thanks for your input.
Malcolm.

I can just see Homeland Security with this couple! "All right boys, we got them red handed. Start the cavity search for carbon fiber"

It is getting harder and harder to get this stuff home in your luggage. Just my experiences for what its worth..

Best of luck,

Malcom,

I installed PSS9's on my daily driver 993TT in 2003.
Had them nicely setup .....untill I came tearing around behind BMW / Merc ...passed the Fortitude Valley pool. I think I bounced across one entire lane

Softened them up the next day. Perfect. [Hardest setting is 1, I used 4 and 5 ]
PSS9's will be more than adequate for a daily driver

Have you spoken to Bayside Performance ?
They are distributors for Bistein and H&R.

Ask for James

[no affiliation, they are just decent guys to deal with]

Q. Thanks for the advice. I'll give them a call and compare prices. Your Fortitude Valley driving display will have excited all the patrons in China Town. (Just like in the movies).

Mal,

Yes - you are correct - I have the "comp" series. For me it isn thard enough - I am running medium springs - and need to go "HARD" - Suprisingly the ride is ok - even when I put on my now defunct 19" Champions....

Install was easy - no fabriacted bits - as long as you get someone in the know - Alignment makes ALL the difference. I chose them over the bilsteins because they seemed to be more "track" orientated. Ohh and I love the construction - i know I am weird!

Don - the last time I came home from the US (about a month ago) I had 4 sets (yes 4!!!) of pagid pads AND 2 harnesses (amongst tools?OBD scanner etc) bought from Steve W in my bag! Customs was OK - but you have to go through quarantine upon arrival here and EVERY bag goes through the scanner. I tried to distribute the boxes throughout our bags - but still got questioned - lucky I had the invoices!!

Q - havent forgotten about your pipes - just gotta get through this concours this weekend - and i might have a life back!!

Simon.

Q,

Nope - not all brought in together of course - the limit is $900AU per person.

So.. my wife,n the baby and myself = $2700AU. With the $$ being the way it is - you can get a LOT of stuff in under that value.

Here in Orlando before the long flight back home Thursday. Baggage will be heavier by 25kg ( PSS-9s) thanks to fast and efficient service by Viperbob who completed the transaction, delivered from Tampa to to my hotel in 24hrs. Fantastic price too, better than I could find on the web. Should just escape excess baggage costs, but they are going to be difficult to hide from customs in Sydney when they X-ray the bags as I pass through! Should just cost 10% GST to import, still making them a steal compared with the retail price back home. Hopefully, I'll have them fitted soon and dial in setting 4 or 5 as per Q's recommendation. I might be back for recommendations for track settings in due course.

Thanks to everyone for your input on this purchase.

Cheers.

Malcolm.

Well done MD...........good choice! Fiddle with the settings as I have never found a group of owners who agree on where the suspension should be set. I'm a bit like Simon, like mine harder rather than softer......mmmm, joke in there somewhere......anyway......enjoy and have fun with the PSS-9's
