Default Trans question

Well I got Barney running yesterday and he feels great.I just need a dyno tune and a custom chip, I'm waiting for Autothority to install there dyno in there new shop. The best thing I did in this whole project was replace the exhaust lifters. This motor has never been so quiet.
Since I purchased this car I have always had a crunch when down shifting into 2nd gear. Now It seems to do it also on the upshift. Is there any clutch adjustment on the 993TT ? and where is it. Or is it a syncro problem? Thanks in advance
Mike (aka) Barney

I, too, would be very interested in the answer to this question.

As an aside, Mike, I believe that some on the board have less-than-stellar opinions regarding Autothority. Of course it's up to you, but a search may be in order.

2nd gear synchro is the first to wear, clutch is self adjusting.

I have heard this more than once. My car was tuned by them when it was new with there mass air kit and chip and electronic boost controller and 5 bar reg. It has been running great. I just put a set of Blouch K16/16G Hybrid turbos in and I need a custom tune. I feel safe going with his tune. Or does anyone know who in the north east can do a custom tune for me ??

When I did all of my mods I changed all of the tranny and dif fluids. I used Mobil I 75/90w synthetic.

I dropped the oil and put standard 75/90w and the CRUNCH into 2nd gear is gone.. My Porsche tech explained how a syncro works. It needs to stop when shifting gears to allow the tranny into the next gear. When using the Mobil I the fluid is so slick that the syncro never stops. Thats why when it was cold it worked fine the fluid was thicker and the syncro would stop. Thanks guys
