Default Road America FUN !!

I went to a Porsche Event at Road America this week which preceeds the
Brian Redman historic races there later this week!

I met (2) great fellow 993TT Rennlisters and had a blast.
Brad R (Acrophora) and John Neurauter who both drive black
993TT's. Brad's has a Protomotive 3.8 TT motor in it, cage, GT3 seats,
Moton's ,Toyo RA1's, etc. an evil track beast! John's is a mint condition
Black one also with Some Protomotive hybrid turbos (K24 based) and recent
Protomotive programming. We all had a blast and Brad and I were in the
fastest run group that was mostly trailered race cars, GT3 Cup Cars (996 based), and a few GT3's. Brad and I followed each other for several laps
(one whole sesssion to see how the cars stack up). Note: due to my
new Brembo 6-piston monobloc fronts, My factory wheels with almost new
Hoosiers DO NOT fit over my brakes so I bought some Michelin Pilots but
they arrived at my house the first track day so I was on my tires ContiSports
and 19" bling Champion Wheels .
My car on pump gas put down 561 hp/593 tq (rear wheel) on Proto's Chassis
dyno--it is no slouch @ 1.1 bar (low boost). I could hit 155 mph on the main straight without going very deep before braking safely and 145 mph on the Morraine Sweep. I could go around the Carousel (very fun) at 77-78 mph and
that was the ragged edge of my street tires. Brad and I passed several C5
Z06's (and pretty much anything else near us). Cup cars run about 7-9 seconds faster than our 2:39 ish laptimes. The only 07 Z06 that was there on
Hoosiers was running 2:45's (and actually had a blowout!). Good times had by all!
Oddly enough the only problem I had was I broke both front drop links that
connect my Cross JIC to my factory front sway bar. I had them welded locally and they held up fine after that.

I will post pictures later in this thread as I need to resize them, if anyone can help email me at martymillworksolutions@yahoo.com

Great meeting you guys Marty and Brad!

And thanks a lot Brad for a taste of that 2wd crack, just enough to get me dangerously thinking about next winter's projects.....

You guys were really smokin' around that track. Having those big brakes coming into 1 is nice. Lost my nerve coming up the front straight a bit on street pads and tires and couldn't get myself to stay in it past 145, but I think there was another 10 mph I can find in there on Labor Day weekend's event.

Very nice folks from the Nord Stern region, a pleasure to hang out with on track, paddock, and Siebkins

Good time hanging w/ you guys. Scared to see how quick Marty is gonna be with his hoosier's on! Hope you keep that creampuff looking the way it does now John. After you left Marty I accidentally switched the boost to high which was good for a 2:37. Good thing there was 110 in the tank. We should be in the low 30's after some (maybe a lot ) of practice.

We were right behind you Marty through a few of the corners. Black 944 Turbo S #7. Through the Carousel your rear end looked like it really wanted to swing out

We were hitting about 6500 rpms in 6th with Tim Peterson's supercup car before hitting the brakes on the front straight

Great fun!

Those 951's are very fast PDoc!!

There was a group of them from my home as well with the best driver being Ron Johnson
in a very nice 1993 968 Club Sport (Red) and non turbo. I also met many new friends and
will return for this weekend every year which is sponsored by my club, NORD STERN.

Really fun and difficult track, I was very humbled!

How about that silver GTP that was running in group 4! He ran away from us in the cup car like we were standing still! Of course, so did your car on the straight when we were in the 951, lol. I remember we both turned on the front straight and we were behind you, and you hit it. By the time we hit the overhead walkway bridge, i think you were at the end of the straight already!
