(Ignore the price it is slightly optimistic, this sold in Germany for substantially less last year.)
What should a realistic price be?

That does not sound dear. I would still look at a twin turbo conversion for your existing motor. This persoanlly would be the way I would go. You would not ever want to go 996GT3RSR spec. 450bhp of not very reliable and very expensive horsepower. £56,000 plus vat for a new crate motor. Inspection being done on 993GT2EVO tomorrow. Fingers crossed that all will be well. It should be given its provenance. Then all I have to do is write the biggest bloody cheque of my life. Anyone wish to help me steady the pen.

I think Jonas does not want to modify the rare 993RS engine. At least with a swap the old one can be put back in to sell the car. A turbo conversion often includes new pistons, lower compression ratios, cams, etc. Big changes to a collector's engine.

As mentioned earlier, 993TT engine is the simplest, most reliable and best value conversion Jonas can do. Simply swap engines, and you can get back to stock anytime, while knowing he has true & tested 408 BHP.
