Default Fire Extinguisher

Have been thinking of late, that a fire extinguisher might be a good idea to keep in the car.

Where have people mounted them in the past? One of my rear seats is redundant due to the half cage which may be an appropriate place, or I suppose could mount it in the passenger foot well same as the 996 clubsport models?

Any recommendations to make / model / size, etc please?

Kind Regards

Martyn.

Martyn - another option are the various Brey-Kraus mounts shown on this page. I have the one that mounts under the front of the seat and I have mine on the driver's side where it is easy to reach.

I mounted mine on the harness bar between the seats - can reach back and get it with my right hand without having to take the harness off. It's higher up so probably not as good for center of gravity as the seat mounted ones. I couldn't reach across to the foot well area in the passenger side (or driver's foot well area for that matter) very easliy even with my harness off (might just be my body habitus). And it looks kind of 'business' like being out in the open...

Martyn: I was after a «werner» fire Extinguisher - The ones Porsche uses in the ClubSport versions. I searched everywhere and the only place I found selling them was at Carnewal in Belgium. I have order one already and I'm waiting for it to arrive.

I mounted mine with the stock bracket that came with the Halon Amerex extinguisher and it works well. The bar is a Brey Krause unit.

The fire ext was purchased on e-bay from Kansas Fire Equip. They say the Halon is the best one to use.
