Owner says all work was done by Protomotive, but he doesn't know exact details, prior owner had it done. Would definitely have a full PPI done before purchase, but looks to be a sweet car. Just wondering if by chance anyone knew some history on the car. Thanks much.

PPI is an absolute must when dealing with modded turbo's (or any car purchase). Make sure a full compression and leakdown test is done too, as part of the PPI. Protomotive cars are awesome, so if it checks out OK, I'm sure you'll be wrapped with the performance

Thanks much for the advice. I did call Todd, and he knew the car and said it was the real deal. So, that made me feel better. And I am in the process of scheduling a PPI at Mind Over Motorsports (seems to be pretty well respected on the board) in San Diego. We will see what happens. Thanks again.

930 Chas, if you can let us know the mileage since the car had the mods done, what mods were done to it, and what did the PPI tell you about compression by cylinder, that would be great.
A leak down test should be done as well. Good luck.

I will let you know the results of the PPI today. I am also having a full compression and leak down test done...thanks to the forum advice, and will definitely share those results. The current owner doesn't know too much about the car. As near as I can tell the Protomotive work was done in 2004 at about 60,000 miles. Also, I spoke with Todd, he remembered the car and he said it had the "big garrett turbochargers, the big wastegates, the big intercooler, all the goodies...it is the real deal" I didn't want to waste his time so didn't ask anymore questions. If I do buy the car, though, I would like to know more of the technichal specs of "the real deal" lol. Thanks.
ruhhh rohhh...I was just looking through a few of the seller's pics, and I don't think this is a Protomotive intercooler...looks stock to me.

The exhaust pipes are stock as well. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Main thing to be concerned about would be a 525+ hp motor that's been running on the stock rods and the ubiquitous valve guide problems. I'd bet Todd still has the receipts of what was done.
