Default painted rockers

I am getting my rocker panels painted and I wondered what the best solution to prevent rock pitting might be. The first option that comes to mind is clear bra, but someone mentioned some type of 3m tape that they were able to replace on a regular basis. This sounds like a viable option to me, but I have no idea what the specifics of that tape are.

Any help?

Tom,

I have been meaning to get my rockers painted to match also, and I planned to use clear bra on them. If in a couple of years they get pitted, its pretty inexpensive to replace the bra. Please post some before and after pictures (same view, same lighting). I'd like to see how subtle the difference is. How's the interior coming?

My rocker panels came stock in body colour...ha ha, one of the advantages of owning a black car...although it only stays clean for about 1/2 hour.

Too late for the before pics. Look at Rufus, squint, imagine none of the cool stuff, and that’s it . It started out simply enough, paint the rockers touch up some paint chips. Then, get some MA Shaw “S” ducts, an “S” front spoiler lets touch this up, do that and this and this. They are taking the fenders and hood off, taking out the rear glass. It’s going through a lot. Remove the headlight washers, remove the front bumperettes, paint the rear bumperettes, redo the clear panels on the rear fenders. I am very excited!

The inside is done except for the one item. Will post pics when it’s all back together.

Car is awesome...but hard to keep clean. I am going to Mosport with it next weekend and trying to decide which tires to use for track. I really love the car. I have seen your posts and you obviously are enjoying modding it...cool interior by the way. I hope the latest enhancements come out the way you hope. enjoy the summer in your tt!
