I have spoken with the owner several times, and I am not comfortable with his story. He said that the car was bought from Carlsen by the 70yo original owner and that they did the mods. Carlsen has no records of any of this. They ran the VIN for me and I ran the option codes, and the sport seats appear to have been added. Owner says that he took a $2k deposit on the car several weeks ago, the guy (from CO) flew out, drove the car, had some sort of inspection done, and then couldn't come up with the $$$. The owner kept his deposit. He says that he's tired of talking about the car and, if no one buys it (at $72k) he'll sit on it.
He is willing to allowt a PPI (Guy's is the shop that seems right and ready), but I just don't feel confident about the owner after speaking with him and particularly after checking his last ebay feedback.
If I wanted this car really badly (I don't), I would carfax the VIN, fly out there and check the car out, THEN get a PPI. This is not an enthusiast-type owner and I would suspect some undisclosed information.
