i liked it, but then again im Canadian. i did consider buying this car before i bought my TT Ruf however the only thing that turned me off were: the C4s vin? Everything else is simply awsome, and rare as hell. Now that i have one i think the price is a bargin-if you consider trying to build this from scratch? Or im still trying to justify why i paid almost the same for mine.

It is legal in Canada, where the current title is, but not in the US. I think for those two reasons, the car will sit.

My understanding is that the car may be technically compliant, but missing the DOT and EPA stickers. Registering this car may not be impossible... perhaps not even difficult. PCNA would need to issue a letter saying that it complies with USA Federal Standards. I'm surprised that Ruf or the owner hasn't taken that step, and registered the car in Texas. I've not seen the car in person, but heard it described as spectacular. Lacks only the big Ruf brakes from having every possible Ruf option. For some reason, Ruf is not very actively marketing this car. I hope it ends up in an active Rennlister's hands.

Ruf "was" going to offer the choice of removing the electronics and putting the interior back to stock, or leaving the electronics. I'm not sure where that offer stands lately.

ther was a big police scanner and other electronics "mounted" where the air bag should be... that was 10 months ago. possibly the current owner scrapped it not thinking he might ever need it? and he hasent ponied up the cash for one yet? should be a "bolt in" item...simple enough.
showing that car to a potential buyer w/o an airbag is like showing a car with a flat tire... "let's go for a really fast test drive" -you ride shotgun! (no thanks)
What is the current asking price per RUF?

Kevin,
Good to hear your voice! I think they're still at $125k, but I haven't spoken to them in months. How's your beauty doing? Anything new? How do you like the gearing? You are working WAY too hard!

Heh... that car is waiting for me! It has my name written all over it! I actually need a Canadian Vin car like that ... If things go the way I think they will ( and pray) financially and its still there before the end of the year I may join the RUF club

I havn't contacted Techart Germany yet, but I fear my wallet will be a lot lighter after the purchase . I saw your post on your lovely red cab a while back but I never figured out why you wanted to sell? To try something else? Well, this is definately the way to go

the things that make me want this car more then anyone i've seen recently is the integrated roll cage, (especially after seeing the story on p-car), and the non turbo vin... since this car probobly wont be resold after i buy it... and insurance will be a little more managable since rate here are unbelievably high.... ($9500 a year for my buick GN..)
