Default DIY - make turbos breathe more freely

Hi,
I've been fighting against air flow restriction of big Garretts..
First aid was that Air Filter mod(topic) and next was.. much harder project..
enlarging these original small (51mm from smallest inside diameter) turbo inlet pipes after that stock Y - pipe.

These stock pipes caused about 0.2 bar vacuum at turbo inlet on full load, which is totally too much and makes turbos work harder and warmer for nothing..

Right side is very easy to enlarge : just bigger hoses and tubes. These were 70mm from inside minus steel spiral inside 3mm (to prevent collapse).
Calculation makes 3525mm2 versus stock 2043 and is 72% more.
see picture right hand side inlet

Left side was.. the real pain in the A$$.. but I decided to enlarge it anyway no matter how long it takes and it took 3 nights from me.. but it is/was worth of it.
First I had to cut stock Y left side pipe end to make more room for 3"-2*2" adapter.
See picture cutting
and the adapter left hand side adapter 1
Then I made 2 connection pipes, sized 50mm, (you can't fit bigger) to flow air towards turbo. See picture how they fit connection pipes
Then I had to do transforming adapter from 2*2" back to 1*3" pipe. See picture adapter 2
That adapter ready and finished adapter 2b
And then the whole left side system ready and finished - state-of-the-art
Calculations for left side is 2*47mm(minimum diam.) makes 3470 which is 70% larger than stock!

and then the results.. don't have any yet
but I'll connect MAP sensors later and publish results.

You're not shy of a bit of work. Reminds me of when I used to tinker with my mini

Some experiences now after few test days..
The car is now more responsive with this turbo inlet pipe enlargement (and also because of air filter box mod).
It really feels that it breathes more freely!
And my buttdyno corresponded to dyno measurent:
whole rpm area has been moved 100 rpm earlier and max. 200 rpm earlier at 4k rpm area - when dynotested with 4.gear. Maybe this effect is even more when using 5th or 6th gears but I haven't got comparision data for that.
So, my recommendations: let these engines breathe more freely and receive more power free

Edited: dynotest before and after added

Does anyone have any view on the FVD kit: FVD 123 993 01
which seems to be approaching the same problem?

Probably not as good as the fabricated method but may be a solution for those of us without the skills to fabricate our own?
