I just spoke to a tech at my local dealer and he mentioned that it was quite expensive to fabricate brackets. Shouldn't new seats come with brackets for mounting? If not, where can one find them?

they use regular recaro brackets I bought some for less than 400 for the pair @ ontrack performance.com . regarding shipping they can ship anywhere in the world but might cost a little more. they come directly from germany.

Beautiful!

What do they weigh? I remember when I first took my Porsche power seats out of my 993 I could not believe how incredibly heavy they were - it seemed like over 100lbs each - but I never weighed them. I'd be interested in the net savings.

But, really beautiful regardless of weight!

These seats are made in Michigan not Germany, at least they are assembled here.

Probably assembled in Michigan and shipped back to Germany for the final touches so they can still say "Made in Germany". At least that is the way Bilstein shocks are produced.

But do you have any actual weight information?
Are they lighter than Cobra Misano R seats?
edited: I found from 964 forum that:
"Recaro Pole Position including BK mounts, each 31.3
Cobra Misano R, incl mounts, each 37.5"
Is that true?
I'm also looking for reclineable and lightweight version seats to my 993TT..

js -those weight numbers are from me guess

My "studies" found that claimed weights for seats are as bad as chassis dyno hp for accuracy

The Misano is supposed to be 10kg, but in reality when used with Recaro brackets (Cobra ones are cr@p) comes out at 17kg...... Still the lightest recliners on the market.

My guess is that the A8s with brackets are way over 20kg/44lbs -still the ultimate looking 993 seat however
