Default Headlight Adjustment

Gang:

Can I adjust my headlights up a bit? I have the standard Litronics and after putting in the new front suspension and lowering it I need to adjust the lights.

Did not find anything in the search section

There is a black plastic cover inside the trunk on each side behind the carpet. Pop it open and use an Allen wrench to adjust until the bubble level in the headlight is right.

Tim,

If you are familiar with Adrian Streather's book, "Porsche 993: The Essential Companion", there's an extensive DIY on how to adjust the headlights. When I get a chance, I'll see if I can scan the instructions and email them to you. PM me with your email address.

Interestingly, many ROW 993's came with a thumbwheel headlight leveler in dash . . you just rotate the thumbwheel up or down to adjust the headlight level. I wonder if one could purchase this and have it installed??

Tim,

FYI, when you remove the plastic cover in the boot, there are two adjustment "holes" which both fit a 5mm allen. Use the BOTTOM adjustment to raise or lower the vertical headlight level. Basically, you want to turn the adjuster clockwise or counterclockwise until the bubble in the headlamp is centered.

Front hood shocks on 993s are easy! The bottom part just pops off after you pry the clip back. The rears on the 993tt are more of a pain since you have to remove the IC/airbox and its hard to get your hands back there . . . but I saw your thread where you did the clutch yourself, I'd hope you could do the front hood shocks easily!!!
