There is more but you get the gist

Yeah we are the idiots that have paid out the a$$ because a deal pushed their problem off on us. Yeah we are the morons that have grease under our nails from working on these things. Dealers are lying scum, period.

Priceless. Thanks for sharing.
After reading that, I wouldn't buy a car from them - period.

Ok, PPI came back clean, im getting the paperwork faxed in tomorrow and upon careful reading will decide to do the road trip or not - to save face im going to change my loggin ID on Rennlist so i can join in on the fun on future topics and use this experiance to help out others, if you see a set of HRE's up for sale on Craigslist and the posting address is Sacramento just assume its not me. To all those that have said be careful or even very careful and they know something additional to what this thread has disclosed please let me know before the morning, if your basing your output on what youve read from others then i dont mind if just repeat the freindly warning.

Please do post the numbers. I think what they are saying is sell the wheels yourself, the dealer will end up making money on the wheels.

Honestly do the research on the HRE's. New they are almost $1300 a piece. I think the dealer knows this, which I why I posted you should not allow them to swap them out for 996TT's unless you can negotiate the cost down.

I don't think you need to be ashamed to sell them. Wheels are extremely subjective and to be honest, you shouldn't care what someone else thinks about your wheels. If you like them, that is all that matters.

I have the same HRE's on my car, I would not have bought them, but they were on the car when I bought it.

Good luck on the car, I also don't think you should change your user id, just have a tough skin in the future if something goes wrong and you take some crap for it. You know, the "I told you so" type of thing.

Bill

PS Les, those are some very nice cars.

In the end you gotta do what feels right. When I was looking, I saw a ton of overpriced high mile cars so I kinda understand your haste. GL none the less.
BTW, keep the hre's, they look good and would be easy to sell on your own, besides turbo twist wheels are plentiful and cheap.

"Thx, its Conway motors inc. - 4.5k to replace head gasket - 3k in lab, 400 for ex.valve + 600 for gasket and 500 in other and tax. - I spoke with the mechanic - it came in smoking, they performed comp.& leakdown and it resulted in a right side repair job which inlcude the above - everything sounded good."

Conway Motors, Inc. replaced a head gasket and one exhaust valve but they somehow missed not one but two leaking valve covers. I wouldn't put much trust in the work they do.

i read thru all 5 pages... don't even understand why this car is still being considered! i would've ran away on page 1.

i do NOT trust Park Place sales. i would never buy a car from them especially when i have access to as great of a community as this one who lives and breathes 911s.
