Had FVD mufflers on my C4S. Nice sound with typical 2800 rpm drone.

Scott,

What muffs do you run on the 3.8 beast?

Scott,

Ahh an Aussie Exhaust!! How do you like it?

I am looking for somethign quetier than the By Passes - which are fine for the track - but way way too loud for the sound laws we have over here... I heard about these FVD ones - for the TT - and thought that they have a good rep..... I can always run a by pass pipe if not loud enough?

Simon.

Simon,

The Mille Miglias are pretty tame compared to the way I would like my car to sound. There is a drone/resonance just like the FVD mufflers. It seems that most of the modified or custom mufflers sound pretty similar to one another. If you can find one without the drone, I would go for it.

Scott,

Thanks - I have modified my stock ones with a by pass pipe - and still dont thinkit sounds the way it should.

I will try these , then modify them and as a last resort - custom build some - Will keep you up to date on my progress....

Simon.

I tried the Mille Miglia many years ago and can confirm an resonance which meant they were only on the car for three weeks.
Cargraphic (made by a race exhaust maker "Phoenix" in the UK) do NOT drone at all in my experience. I have had the regular sport versions and now the even free-er flowing race versions and no issues whatsoever - you may remember my rather silly post to get a feel for the sound

The race mufflers may have a larger diameter inlet pipe which is the only complication stopping them from being 100% bolt on.

I've got Cargraphic's too and confirm they do NOT drone.

TB is spot on, the CG race mufflers sound great with zero drone. Idling and standing start video here:

I have FVD (Dansk export) mufflers on my TT and they are absolutely perfect. No drone and rather than the usual "motor boat" sound, they actually are more raspy and deep sounding. I compared a few TT's at a summer Porshe event and INMO, they were hands down the best. Make sure you get the Danske export model which is polished and fits the first time on your exhaust.
