All over the national news tonight....Moorepark CA having major fires and 70 mph winds. Hope all are ok.

 

Knowing Steve, the house could burn but he and Rufus would be well down the road!

 

I spoke to Steve last night and he is slightly away from the hot spot. And yes he has already earmarked my garage as safe haven in the event of evacuation.

 

Thanks all. Everybody is fine. Rufus is in the garage under a car cover. Lots of smoke and ashes, but the fire is still some distance, and the wind seems to have lessened today. Some of the rural area are still in danger, and some homes and out buildings have been lost. There are lots of horses and other livestock out there, and they are being trucked to safer ground.

Speaking of horses.... Scott??????

 

Dorann lost both houses but all 45 horses were saved. (She is the lady on page 2 of the LA times on the back of the fire truck.)

Good luck, my friend. My wife and I went through this a couple of months ago when a good sized fire came through Napa. We were in London, getting calls from friends in SF trying to update us on the situation. A very long night indeed, in front of the computer, watching internet feeds of SF TV channels and trying to figure out just how close it was to our house. TV made is sound like 1/2 mile, luckily reality was more like 1 1/2 miles. You understand the magnitude of that difference.

I heard steve STARTED the fire!!!! yhea!!!

I heard RUFUS smoked a Ford Rustang so bad it actually caught on fire as he blew past 'em...it could just be an urban legend though....

(or was it one of those Shelby cars, my memory is getting fuzzy... I need to go take my lithium...)
