Post Active Cooling System

I am looking at having the active cooling system fitted to my 97 993TT. Has anyone had it fitted? To what extent does it reduce oil temp under extreme conditions? Any info would be appreciated!

What exactly is an active cooling system? Would be more effective than an aux Cargraphics oil cooler?

Wolf:

Can you tell me exactly what this "Active Cooling" system is, and what its comprised of?

Thanks!

ACS Definiton as from Exclusive & Tequipment WVK 156 420 99/WW

An additional active air supply for the oil cooler and a/c unit to help improve performance under extreme temperature conditions. The package includes two air-intake ducts on the nose section with integrated side lights, replacing the standard light unit.

I have just had it installed. I will let you know if there is any difference/improvement!!

In my opinion, the vents are nearly worthless. If you want to open up the vent, remove the light, insert some screen, and away you go. If you are in extreme temperatures, over 39 degrees C, and pushing the car hard, the Cargraphics cooler is THE solution. Drop a note to one of our Rennlist sponsors, Gert Carnewal, and he caqn fix you up http://www.carnewal.com Gert has the best prices and service.

On a minor note, why is/would this be called "active". It's really a passive cooling system. ( ie, the car has to be moving for it to have any effect ) Sounds a bit like marketing BS to me.

Wolf, you might want to install the oil cooler fan switch if you want something more "active.". The fan cooler switch is great when you are stuck in traffic. But won't do you any good if you already at speed.

Thanks for your input guys. I will let you know if ACS works (looks good anyway). As for getting stuck in traffic, luckily where I live we don't really have a traffic problem. Yet anyway!!
