Good luck with your search for a 993 R Turbo. Assuming you saw the one that recently sold at Weissach?

back in 2010 I almost pulled the trigger on a R490 conversion to be done here in Quebec by Christian from Ruf de..
Cost all in was circa 45k with all the goodies, included new heads, oil cooler, cam etc etc (no suspension)

Cost of my conversion done in 2004 was ~55K - it included all engine work, suspension, wheels and a few extra goodies (driving wheel, sill plates). It did NOT include: Bumpers (recently added), seats (recently added), A-Pillar Kit (recently added), brakes, shaved gutters or roll cage.

So if the price in 04 is about $55k would it be cheaper now or the opposit? $55k is what I was thinking .....

I would guess flat or slightly higher. One way to find out is to call Ruf in Germany or their US distributor: http://www.rufauto.us/

I am sure they'll be more than happy to give you a quote!
