9x18 and 11x18 Fikse wheels...tire sizes?
I recently bought some Fikse wheels for my 993TT. 9's and 11's x 18. I am wondering what is the RANGE of tire sizes I can put SAFELY on these wheels (Fikse gave me a very specific size that will restrict me to buying only a Pirelli PZero or a Hoosier, when I would prefer Dunlops or ?), Thanks in advance...

On the small side, the stock sizes (225 & 285) will work on those wheels. They ARE within specs, but on the small side. Otherwise, you are really limited by tire clearance, as the wheels are OK for 265 (or maybe even 275 front) and 315 in the rear.
FYI - I am running Kuhmo Ecstas 225 & 285 on those same wheels.

Wick, I have FISKE FM-10s on the car in the same width, but with 17 inch rims. I also have the PSS-9 suspension (RS Sway bars) on the car and I run 245s in the front and 285s in the rear. I think the 245s up front helps mute the understeering issue I felt with my car. (used tires instead of sway bars to take this away :-)). In order to match tire diameters I, found this to be the most "sensible" set up. Any other suggestions are more than welcome. :-) I have used 255s up front with 315s in the rear, and the sidewalls were just WAY too high for me (matching diameter tires), and these Hoosiers rubbed quite a bit with my suspension as I have ~-1.5 degrees of camber (front and rear) on a "square tire", probably more camber would solve most of the problem.
What do you guys think of the Yoko AVS Sports? They are cheap now with Tire Rack and are they a good alternative to the Pilot Sports? I know the Pilot Sports handle better in the wet but I hardly drive in the rain (unless I get caught in it), plus I have AWD! :-) Hope this helps.

fxrdoc,
The rears didn't rub, but the fronts did and the profile for the front was just WAY too high in order to match the proper diameter tires for front and rear (with a 315 rear). I believe tire availability "forces" you to put a 255 on the front with a very high profile, I don't remember the height but you can check on the tirerack size for similar diameters. These were with Hoosier racing tires (squarish tire, not curving edge tires) I also did not roll the fenders but that probably would have cured the problem as well (just ever so slightly). I did have about 1.25-1.5 degrees of negative camber front and rear. I am now using 245s up front and 285s in the rear, and they seem to work well for now. I hope this helps.
