Wheels ??
I would be grateful for opinions from other owners on fitting non stock wheels to their 993tt's. My car is extensively modified in so many areas that I feel having the standard wheels is a bit of a cop out.
Can anyone share their experiences with their set ups, I am more interested in road use than specifically track, opinions on which wheels look cosmetically best on the 993tt ? are any other wheels (bar BBS magnesium) lighter weight (equivalent size) than the stock ?
Thanks

I like the look of the Fikse Fm/10's and the Kinesis K-28's. I have some K-28's and get compliments on them regularly. I would also check out forgeline's new 3 piece wheel. I haven't seen them on a TT but they looked great on the cars I have seen. They can do them in a bright finish that looks awesome. All of these wheels should be as light or lighter than the stock hollow spoke wheels.forgeline wheels
I also have a set of the BBS Magnesium wheels and they are nice but I probably wouldn't recommend them for street use as they are a little rough, even when new.

I would second all of Greg's comments. I have the Fikse FM-10 forged wheels on my TT--much lighter and stronger than the hollow spoke standard wheels. Here's a pic...

Thanks for the picture, this style of wheel is presented by a number of people, BBS Carpghraphic etc, I'm not sure I like it that much, looks a bit old fashioned maybe ? just IMHO. Have you seen the Techart Daytonas, they look similar to the original 993 GT2 (road fitment) split rims ?
What happened to you front side indicators ??

I the US these are not required.
Also look at the Fkise FM5's they are a 5 spoke rim. I am not familar with the Techart offering do you have a picture?
Below is a picture of my car with the Kinesis wheels in a matte grey finish.

The TechArt Daytonas are very nice, but quite heavy--no improvement over your hollow spokes. A similar looking wheel that you can have built to your specifications(ie,width and offset) is the Kinesis Supercup. However, this particular wheel,as well as the Daytona, is not forged--so no real unsprung weight reduction. Good luck with the search.

Your silver car looks hot. - I take your point about the weight of the Daytonas and have in fact requested the actual comparative weights from techart. There's no point attaching something heavier to your struts !

Speaking of weight, Gemballa's Competition wheel is advertised as being extremely lightweight and is available in many sizes and offsets. It is manufactured by Speedline in Italy:

Yeah those are the ones for the GT2 I like - I think they look the business and are still available from Porsche for reasonable money, however they won't fit a 993tt. The 993RS wheels are similar but only go to 10" on the back. I have ordered the Techart Daytonas (which are similar to the GT2's - wide rim five spoke and Techart produce the offsets to snugly fit a 993tt) in 8.5" and 11" and am thinking of putting on the new Michelin Pilot Cup tyres on, they have just become available in the UK in the 285/30 -18 size.

I ordered those Techart Daytonas on 22 June and after continual chasing have just been told they will be at least another 10 days - I've lost the vision and cancelled the order.
I wish I could turn down business like that in my industry !!
