Post My New Baby

Just got my 95TT

31,000 km on the clock.

Its GREAT, upgraded from a '91 modified 3.4 C2 Turbo and got to say the new car is much more refined, lacks the older turbo's "animal" chacteristics and behaviour, in many ways miss the old car's characteristics and more direct handling which at times was pretty hairy!! Now this new one is just sooooooooo smooth and much more refined, love those 993 Spot Litronic Headlights. ONE MEAN STEALTH MACHINE .

Colour I believe was a Special Colour Option, Viola-Metallic with Classic Grey Leather interior, the interior colour seems to match the exterior exceptionally well, and in addition its got the original fabulous sports seats with their contrasting silver seat backs.

Initially I had never considered this colour, was looking for silver or ocean/iris/midnight blue with black or red interior.

Now I have really grown to love this combination of Viola metallic with the grey interior!

Its an interesting colour, appearing blue to black at night. Under the sun it is a very dark violet changing to a very dark blue-purple when the sky is overcast.

Before I bought the car I thought it was Vesuvio metallic but only later discovered I had been looking at Viola-metallic! Afterwards was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to compare a real Vesuvio Grey 993TT with mine:

Both colours are very similar especially in the late evening, both appear purple, but one is more grey the other more blue.

Next thing to do will be to post up some photos, hopefully to show the range of colours described!!

Would love to find out if anyone has any experiences with this colour, I know it is pretty rare!!

Great to join the club!!

Congratulations on your wonderful find. I'd love to see those pictures, but would ask that you please refrain from rubbing in the fact that you have sports seats, while I do not. Just plain mean.

Pictures, please.

Patrick,

So, not only do you rub my nose in my standard seats, but you go the extra mile with your screen name to remind us that you can drive your car really fast, while we plod along behind the SUVs. I'm going to remember this cruel deed (and besides, I'm the guy whose Porsche is still in the body shop). Very painful and mean-spirited.

Congrats Ray! I couldn't agree more, sport seats ROCK!
Where did you get the car from? Was it from Carcity or Benson @ Newwaymotors?
I'm still on the lookout for a good 993TT here in HK.. Not sure if you've seen my other postings in this Forum & my experiences so far but if you know of any good car for sale pls let me know!

Ciao,

David

David:

Benson from Newwaymotors left me a message to see a just in 993TT.

I was in the area so took a look at it today, it turns out to be a beautiful all original Black Metallic with Black interior 993TT 59,000km on the clock.

Only one previous owner and from my limited inspection it has had no accident damage, apparently service history is with Jebsen Motors.

Its looks GREAT real STEALTH, and it has the Turbo S front spoiler, so much better than that silver-blue metallic TT also at the automall which you posted details of.

If I was still looking I would seriously contemplate getting this car....

NB unfortunately no sports seats though, can't have everything!

Good luck in your search! Let me know how things get along!

BTW my car developed its first fault, with a leaky steering rack, was supposedly ok before I bought it as my mechnanic said he checked it over, just my luck!! so its in at the garage now, no drive at the weekend!!

Steve: I know what it feels like and I've only had my car for 2 days!!

Ray,

Ouch on that leaking steering rack. Mine was done over by the pervious owner to the tune of ~$2K USD. This is a common failure area of these cars, and that should have been caught by any decent inspection. So, its a race to see who will be driving their Porsche first! Good luck.

Ray, thanks..guess what? Benson called me too about the black/black TT. Besides sport seats which I would DEFINITELY upgrade the car to, I'm a bit put off by the mileage. 59,000kms are a little too many for my appetite given that it's a HK car. Otherwise I would definitely go for it! The search continues..
Sry to hear that you've had problems with your TT. BTW who do you use as a mechanic? Carrera Cars or Jebsen or someone else?
We should hook up once I (eventually!) get my TT.

Ciao,

David

My Baby is back, steering rack fixed.

Clutch also readjusted now its very light and smooth to change over.

Also had all wheels realigned

Just cleaned and polished her, in 30 degress heat and humidity!!

Going out for a late night drive and a snack now.

Next thing to do is to get some decent photos.

Ray,

You win. The body shop shot new clearcoat on my hood, and covered a rock-chip "divot", and it didn't look right, so they're going to redo the hood. I'm glad they're taking their time to do it right, but gadzooks, already.

So, where are those pictures?????
