Post Moaning Sound?

Greetings...
I've got a strange sound coming from my 1997 993TT. It's kind of hard to describe but lately I've noticed a sort of moaning type sound when I turn the steering wheel either to the right or left. If I leave the steering on center the sound dies away. The sound also seems match itself to the engine speed. When I rev the motor in neutral, the moaning sound increases along with the revs, but only when I'm turning the steering wheel.

The steering also seems to be a bit stiffer now. Other than that, it doesn't seem to hinder the drivability or performance of the car.

Might I be be having a belt problem? Power steering problem, or something esle? The belts seemed OK but I might have missed something when I inspected them.

Anyone have any thoughts. Thanks in advance for any help!

Check the steering fluid and belt. Also check for leaks on steering rack. Have you ever add fluid to your reservoir bottle? Check for bubbles in the fluid bottle first time in the mourning when idle.
