Boost gauge install update
Hi all. Thanks again for all info offered on earlier post of boost readings I was getting. As promised, here's pix and doc. of install (finally figured what I was doing wrong with the image upload! duh...).

a) After install (Start with the best part first!)
b) Pix of back panel. Remove four screws (haver marked one of them here).
c) Vac line passing through rear firewall. This is through an existing hole which has been filled with sealer at the factory.
d) Another shot of vac line. Note I'm driving a right hand drive vehicle. Those of you who have a left hooker (Oops did I say that??) need to pass it through on the other side.
e) close up of vac line passing through firewall.
f) A shot of the left side with the sealed off hole arrowed.
g) Passed the vac line through the side boards. How did my vac line miraculously turn from clear to black? You need 15 feet of tubing (not 12, not 13, 15......).
h) and i) Tricky part. Vac line passes from interior to trunk and gauge cluster here. The air/cond ducting passes through the bodywork here. It has a fairly wide flange at the pass through point. I heated up a punch and pierced the flange right at the arrowed point then ran the vac/boost line through. Caveat: proceed at your own risk etc. etc.
j) Gauge plumbed up ready for install.
k) Plug for clock. Pins 1(+) and 2(gnd) are live for instrument lighting and hence dimmable.
The bad part:
The warning lights for charging, airbag, and belt are in the clock. Still working on how to have these displayed elsewhere.
The charging system has gone a little screwy with the clock (charging light?) disconnected. I need to blip the throttle once after starting before it kicks in. Working on this as well.

Neat- what brand is the boost guage? where did you get it? does it come with all plumbing/hardware? Please keep us posted on the warning light issue resolution. If this works, all that needs to be done is have the guage face finished to match the other dialS!

My Blitz electronic boost guage can be seen on the right, it is analogue but works from an electronic signal and has a bright red light which comes on at a preset boost level (currently set at 1 bar) - I know the installation will look a bit tacky to some but I have had Ruf clock replacement guages before and whilst IMHO they are OK for pre 964 cars, I like to have all the warning lights available - this guage is right in my field of vision which is important when the loud pedal is pressed
My new Techart s/wheel is there (it looks better in the flesh honest !), the seats and carpet are that marble colour and the dash and trim are blue, hence the wheel's colours. I think it maybe looks a little "'90's" but hey that's the car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hi all. Will keep everyone posted if/when I overcome the warning lights issue. On the charging hiccup at startup, I've reconnected the clock but left it inside the gauge cluster for the moment.
Thanks roadrunner! It's a HKS unit and yes it does come with all plumbing and wiring. The tubing in the kit though is rubber with a 6mm dia which would have necessitated punching a larger hole through th a/c duct flange. I used 3mm p.e. air/vac tubing which you can pick up from any decent hardware store. I had the option of a white face for the dial but decided to go with orange just for differentiation. Personally I think it looks better especially at night but that's a matter of preference I guess!

Nissan 300zxtt</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">I had a Ruf Guage on a previous 965 in the clock position, and whilst it is actually where the factory used to fit them, I found it a bit scary to try and watch the road and the guage whilst on boost.
The unit to the left is an Andial before/after intercooler temp guage which is mounted in a black leather covered aluminium piece I had made which makes the ash tray redundant. The guage is fun but not very accurate.
The device below the clock (you have sharp eyes <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ) is the module for my laser jammer - I will probably get this relocated (hidden) since it doesn't really need to be in view (only to check its switched on !)

Thanks Carrera GT for compliment. Still I have to warn about one thing. In the dark this particular gauge is lit differently than original gauges. Difference is not huge, but visible. So, warning only for perfectionists.
