Post Rear Bar

Hi,
I did a search, I'm sure it's an easy answer, but I can't find it?

What size is the rear Sway bar? I'm talking to Gert about a PSS9 set up and he mentioned going to a 21mm bar on the rear and I was wondering what was stock?

Thanks,
Pete

Check out this thread Pete.

I just changed my rear bar to the ROW TT sway bar. The USA TT sway bar is 20 MM.

This was just a temporary solution for me. When I get my real shocks, I'll get the rear RS bars becuase of the adjustability.

Thanks Jeff,
Trying to decide between the 21mm bar and the RS set up with the PSS9's.

The very early USA TT's had the 21mm rear bar (and some other goodies, as well). Pete, with a '97 should have the 20mm.

I would go right for the RS. My TT had the 21mm (early '96). I went to RS and full coil-over (Bilstein/Eibach from FVD). Rear RS bar full stiff and it was OK but still some push. I finally went to RS front bar and with it set one from full soft, plus some alignment changes to make the car looser, I got it where I wanted it.

For most people, doing the coil-overs and RS rear bar will get you as loose as you will ever want.

My 96 was delivered in June 95 and had the 20mm rear bar. What were the other "goodies" it should have had?

My 96 993TT was delivered in April 1995 and it has the 21mm bar. I actually have a brand new 21mm rear sway bar if anybody is interested. I'll let go for $140.

Some of the early cars had better connecting rods, from the race motors.

Jeepers, mine was built in March 1995. Gotta be one of the first, ehh? I understand after checking with the previous owners, that PCNA was the original registerd owner of the car. I shudder to think of the abuse that was probably heaped on it. Which probably explains the warranty replacement of 1st/2nd gear set in May of 99. Hmmmm... do I now have the stronger 1997 gear set? 993-302-901-71. Anybody know this number? Mark... what other goodies?

Steve:
I recently installed the PSS9 setup with the RS adjustable bars and am extremely pleased with the setup. The car was set to RS specs and drives and rides fantastic. This is the most important modification that you can make to the car.
Happy Motoring!

Pete,

"A geeee, ya think? ;-)"

Huh? I'm trying to decode your message, but I don't get it. Say it again, a little slower.

911/Q45,

Was it ME you were asking for the serial number? My VIN is WPOAC2991TS375090.

Are we having an early build date contest?
